We caught up with the lovely Emma, proud owner of the only Irish mobile deli in the UK. We're delighted to welcome them to the Togather supplier community and hear all about their journey so far and how a trip to the London Irish Centre resulted in the founding of TikTok viral hit, Emerald Eats.

Tell us how Emerald Eats came about

Emerald Eats came about after 11 years spent in London craving food from Irish delis that I couldn't seem to find anywhere, in particular chicken fillet rolls. I had thought about it for years and was in the London Irish Centre one day and all the staff were saying chicken fillet rolls were the number 1 thing they missed from home so I decided to go for it.

You're one of a handful of London food businesses to experience going mega-viral - what was that like and how has it impacted your business?

We were so lucky . We had the pleasure of having The Craic in London and Boopfoodie come down and the following week there was a huge queue I actually didn't realise it was for us. But it was such an amazing feeling to meet so many people who had come especially. Since then we had some really great influencers come down that has been such huge help in getting the word out and a definitely highlight was getting on the Murphia list thanks to Hot Dinners and a big shout out on the Capitol on Tap report saying we had over 15.4 million TikTok views and the effect it had for Broadway Market.

Are there any other Irish delicacies you think the London food scene is just crying out for?

We will be adding jambons (square pastries packed with cheese and ham) onto our events menu. When you do the markets you need to make sure that you are not doing the same food as other traders that have been there before you so unfortunately we can't sell them at markets but they will be a great addition for events and private functions.

What's a dream event you'd love to cater?

Oh wow what a question. I love a festival and Glastonbury has always been my number one so keeping everything crossed we will be in a food truck for Glastonbury next year. Also there is so much amazing Irish music so supporting any of our favourite artists and bands would be incredible.
